Interactive Car Show

Porsche

When the pandemic swept across Europe, the traditional auto-show circuit disappeared almost overnight. For the Benelux markets, that meant cancelled exhibitions, lost customer touchpoints, and fewer opportunities for buyers to experience the craft, precision, and emotion that define Porsche.

The question was immediate and urgent:
How do you recreate the magic of stepping into a Porsche booth without a physical event?

Tarvalley was asked to help answer it.

Together with Porsche and a world-class production team, we developed an interactive digital showroom that did more than stream video. Visitors entered a virtual environment where they could actively explore each vehicle from any angle, navigating in real time through a cinematic space that preserved the premium feel of a live exhibition.

Instead of passive watching, the audience gained control.

At the center of the solution was a custom web module powered by robot-controlled camera systems. These rigs enabled continuous, precise motion capture around every model, creating seamless loops that responded instantly to user input. Move left, rotate, zoom – the transition felt fluid, physical, and immediate.

To match the technological ambition, the visual storytelling had to operate at the highest level. Direction and cinematography were led by Björn Tagemose from Shoot the Artist in collaboration with DDMC. Every reflection, material shift, and line of the cars was captured with the same care normally reserved for a global launch film.

What emerged was not a compromise for cancelled events.
It was a new format.

Visitors could stay longer than they would at a crowded fair. They could revisit vehicles repeatedly. Sales teams gained qualified leads and measurable behavior data rather than quick badge scans. Porsche maintained momentum in a period when many brands went silent.

And the market responded.

“The digital showroom didn’t just replace the exhibition – it drove a +24.3% sales increase in year one and +17.7% in year two, earning a 2021 Effie Award.”

The project demonstrated that premium automotive experiences can thrive in digital environments when technology, storytelling, and user control are designed as one system.

For Tarvalley, it became a defining example of how constraints can trigger innovation. When the doors to the physical world closed, we helped Porsche open a new one – borderless, measurable, and always accessible.

Not a backup plan.
A competitive advantage.
